Portraits

"Every man's work, whether it be literature or music or pictures or anything else, is always a portrait of himself, and the more he tries to conceal himself the more clearly will his character appear in spite of him."
-Samuel Butler

For years now, I have leaned more towards portrait photography than anything else because people fascinate me. I believe that what makes a great portrait is not so much how you light it or compose it, but how you interact with the subject of it.  Knowing how to put somebody at ease and then capture that ease through my camera is what allows me to make portraits like I do. I love to make portraits that reveal and entertain -- few things are more rewarding to me than helping somebody understand themselves better thorough a portrait I’ve done of them.
