I recently was back home shooting a series of photos for a new project I’m working on and had a couple of hours to kill before my next scheduled shoot, so I called a friend and fan of my photography to see about doing some stock images of her son who swims competitively on a local swim team. I am pleased with the results given the restraints I had to work under. I was not able to light them at all as I had hoped to do, so, I worked with available light and a reflector. I also shot with a long lens to compress the image down so as to not show the numerous other kids around him swimming. In addition to this I only had a few minutes to work with him before his swim practice would begin. So, all that you see here was shot inside of ten or fifteen minutes.

Tyler was great in giving what I was asked of him in regards to the photos. He apparently is good at giving what the coaches ask of him — and what he ask of himself — too. He excels at swimming, and it is his passion. In seventh grade, his first year swimming competitively, he was voted by his coach as “most improved.” In eighth grade he placed first in the 100M Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, and 100M Freestyle Relay at the middle school state meet. And this past Saturday he secured a spot competing in this years state meet as well. He’ll be a freshman at Tift County high school this coming year. Thanks for being a great model, Tyler.
