Today, Julia and I drove up to Chattanooga, TN to see my Aunt Evelyn – who actually is my great aunt – and like a grandmother to me. The last year has been filled with a lot of tough adjustments for her, most notably, losing her husband and best friend of almost 67 years. So, we thought she’d appreciate the company, and us getting her out for a bit. We started out by stuffing our guts with BBQ for lunch – and then – we took her to The Moon Pie General Store. She’d been living in the Chattanooga area for a little over 36 years and had never been. Once there she seemed to be absolutely amused with some of the products they were selling – some of which were various old-timey candy brands that seemed to put her on a trip down memory lane. At one point she called out my name and was holding up this sign as you see in this shot. I saw a good shot of her – so I got out my trusty iPhone camera – and here it is. This lady is as sweet natured as can be – this sign fits her well.
