Pet Photography: Lulu is not a dog. She is a chick magnet.

This is my neighbors new Fox Terrier — her name is Lulu. She is a rescue and is already showing signs of being your typical terrier — smart and stubborn. I look out for her on the days I’m home working while my neighbor is at work, and have been taking her to our local dog park in the afternoons to get her socialized with other people and dogs. I’m really — really — working hard to try and break her of attracting every female she’s within site of — forcing me to have to talk to them — but Lulu nor the girls are having it. I just don’t know what I’m going to do if things continue on this way. I just don’t. Can you sense the stress I’m under over all this? Can you?

Lulu is only three months old and is pretty tiny — so she is kinda hard to resist. She’s actually curled up in my lap asleep as I type this. Finally. Earlier she was trying her best to gnaw on the side of my desk — right in front of me — and looked at me as if I had lost my mind when I told her to stop. Before that she was trying to lick me in the face nonstop.

I took this shot of her this past weekend while I was doing a little photography experiment. I’m pretty happy with the simplicity of it and how it turned out. This is nothing more than her on my white table top with a white wall behind her. She’s lit from camera right with an umbrella. I took out the seam / dark spot between the table and wall in Photoshop, and this is what you get. No, I’m not a pet photographer — but I do love dogs and don’t mind turning my camera on them when the opportunity presents itself.

Everybody. Meet Lulu.
