Last night I went to the JJ Grey & MOFRO show at Georgia Theatre in Athens with some friends. Once again, they did not disappoint with the show they put on at all. We were right up on the stage again like we were for this show a couple of years back — and the energy amongst the fans and band was very much the same. I love his music and very much can relate to it due to him being from North Florida like I am. He sings about experiences I’ve lived.

I”ve never cared much for doing live music photography because it will consume my mind while doing it, and prevent me from really enjoying the show. That’s fine — if I’m getting paid for it. Otherwise, I really can careless about going in to shows with my professional gear in most cases. I do have fun seeing what I can get with my iPhone at them though — it’s more of a challenge to me with it. I got some great stuff of their show at Variety Playhouse here in Atlanta with one, so last night, I was just wanting to get one shot I  was really happy with. I actually ended up getting several I like, but the one I’ve posted here stood out above the rest to me. I like how the light gives just enough detail to the tuners and neck of the guitar to keep it from being lost in black.

Go and see a JJ Grey & MOFRO show if you get the chance. They’re all very talented musicians that know how to entertain their fans. They get two thumbs up from me.
