Atlanta Editorial Photographer: a mano

I recently shot a batch of images shooting for a mano – a new restaurant here in Atlanta that is a pretty happening place. The images were all approached with an editorial style approach, even though I was shooting them directly for the restaurant itself. The owner, George, was most interested in getting plenty of images to promote bar portion of the business thus being why I started with a focused so heavily on it, then moved on from there to cover a few of their dishes, portraits, and interior and exterior shots of the place. A couple of a mano’s employees served as talent/models for me and did a great job. That’s Tiffany on the left, and Laura on the right.

This is the owner, George Demeglio, who is a retired engineer with excellent taste in music, and a lover of all things concerning food.

The owner repurposed lumber that was in the existing house where a mano was built for the interior of the place. Part of it was cutting its 2×4’s into end pieces and then using them as tiles for the surface of their bar. It’s beautifully done and is unique design aspect of the space. So, I shot this just for designers to be able to use for a texture/design element for their website if they like. I thought it would work well as a background with the opacity pulled back on it, then laying type over it. No, I’m not a designer, but I try to think like them when I shoot in regards to giving them space and unique stuff to work with as far as their layout is concerned.
