Commercial Real Estate Photography: An Air Raid

I have a few clients that I shoot commercial real estate / architecture for. Sometimes the challenge of doing this is figuring out how to make a building look interesting that really isn’t all that interesting. And, sometimes I try to capture aspects of them that could be a selling point for the agent that is trying to find tenants for the office spaces in them. So, in this shot I was trying to visually convey the security aspect of the building by photographing the security cameras – but I was trying to make it interesting from a compositional standpoint. By doing so I capturing the dragon fly you see in the shot completely on accident. It looks like he / she is coming in for an air raid on the building and the camera’s are there to shoot it down due to it flying directly at the cameras. This shot turned out to be my favorite out of all that I shot for that job simply due to the dragon fly being in it. Look at it for a moment and imagine air raid sirens going off in it as if you could hear it and not just see it. Yes. I’m a weird person with a weird imagination.

Still staying busy with work these days. I’m hustling trying to get a bunch of stuff done this morning before heading to the beach this weekend with my girlfriend. I’m going to do my best to try not think about needing to get work done while there and just enjoy myself. Wish me luck with that…
