“Encompassed With Love”

I shot this for an art auction / fundraiser that was organized to raise money for Wellspring Living – a restoration program for survivors of sex trafficking. The participating artists were asked to make red and white the dominant colors in the piece they submitted. I felt that my challenge in participating was to shoot something that was symbolic and followed these guidelines, yet would still be something positive that somebody would want to hang on their wall. Something that represented what is required to restore these girls faith in their own self-worth: love.

The single white rose represents the victim. It being completely encompassed in red represents not just the love that needs to be shown to these girls after they have been rescued, but the love that Wellspring Living employees and volunteers show for what they are doing to help these girls get to a better place in life. It is a long process. It is a labor of love.
