This is another shot of my favorite tree on Jekyll Island that was taken about seven hours after I first spotted it and photographed it under the light of the moon the night before. That morning I experienced for the first time ever Julia not being too eager to get up and start the day – not at 5:30am when I woke up to shoot these at least. I don’t think she was feeling it after I kept her out till midnight or so photographing it.

I ended up getting this and a few other shots I really liked that morning to share with her, and everybody else. It was certainly worth getting out of bed for when I wasn’t wanting to myself. But, I found myself wishing I had Julia there to experience the sunrise with me as I was shooting. I couldn’t blame her for not wanting to get up though. When I came back to the hotel room a couple hours or so after leaving I found her still in a deep sleep. She still didn’t seem too eager to get up and get her day started.

Not until I mentioned to her that they wouldn’t be serving breakfast there at the hotel much longer.

THAT got her up.

Quickly.

The woman loves breakfast more than I love photography I think – and that’s a lot of love.
