On my last trip back home I made this iPhone portrait of Dave Stone, a member of the Dreadknots team on the History Channel’s show “Ax Men.” It’s just a quick impromptu available light portrait I shot at his store, Southern Ocean Sports in Valdosta, GA one afternoon. A good buddy of mine from high school is Clint Roberts, or “The Captain,” on the same team, so next time I’m down that way I plan to shoot the whole team with my big boy cameras and lights. I’m still very happy with how this portrait turned out considering I had no photo gear on me at the time other than my iPhone. You gotta make the most out of your circumstances in life at any given point, folks. Don’t use what you don’t have as an excuse for not doing good work or being the best person you can be with what you do have.
