Portraits for Prayer :: “I’m Not Afraid To Die”

This past February I launched a faith based charity photography project called Portraits for Prayer that felt almost like a failure to me until this past week, and today specifically. I dropped everything else I was trying to get done last week for a out-of-town trip I had planned for this week in order to go and do these portraits of Mr. Billings and his family. I immediately knew I had made the right choice in doing so after I had done the portraits, but today, seeing the response  the post has gotten. Wow. Complete strangers have been reaching out to them and offering their support. It’s doing what I created the project to do, and I really don’t think I can express with words how that has made me feel. Thank all of you that have encouraged me to stick with photography when I didn’t feel like it at times. Being able to help other people like this through my work is something I never want to take for granted or waste. Thank you God for giving me the ability to have done this for them.

Please follow this link  to read his story, see him with his family, and share it all with others: http://www.portraitsforprayer.com/july-2013-im-not-afraid-to-die/
